The Improv Cushions digital pattern, exclusively designed by Just Quilting, includes instructions for two different versions of this stylish cushion.
 
We have used fabric ranges by Moda Fabrics including Gradients Parfait (pink version), The Blues by Zen Chic (blue version) and Modern Backgrounds Even More Paper by Zen Chic. 
 
The Improv Cushions are a great introduction to the improv technique and are best suited to an intermediate stitcher. 
 
This digital pattern includes full instruction for the cushions.
 
To make the cushions, you will need:
(16) 5" squares of neutral coloured background fabrics
Various strips of feature fabrics – these should be in contrast with the background fabric and in mixed colours/patterns
Approximately 30cm of lightweight interfacing (sew-in, not fusible) 
60cm of backing fabric for the back of the cushion
30cm of border fabric (optional)
22" zip (optional)
Sewing thread to match the background fabric
A square of wadding approximately 24" square
Embroidery floss for topstitching (matching colour)
 
Finished size: approximately 20" x 20"
