Competition time - Now Closed

Every now and again a really special quilt is created by one of our ladies at Just Quilting.

This time we would like to introduce the ‘Aurora’ quilt, made by Elaine Profit.

Elaine called into our shop around four years ago looking for a new hobby.  She signed up for classes and the rest is history.

Elaine has found her forte in foundation piecing and has rapidly become something of an expert.  Indeed she now teaches most of our foundation classes.

Looking for next challenge we searched the pattern stalls at Harrogate Quilt Show and found the perfect project   -   ‘Aurora’ by Jacqueline de Jonge.

Jacqueline owns the BeColourful company based in The Netherlands and produces wonderful, intricate quilt designs.

This quilt is a work of art.  The specific positioning of each piece in the quilt gives a stunning rainbow effect..  It is created using the foundation method and involves detailed preparation of colour choices.

Elaine completed the project in a few months and we are proud to display it in Just Quilting.

We would like to offer a competition to celebrate this quilt.

The task for our readers is to estimate how many pieces were used in the making of this quilt. Email - with your guess.

The person who guesses the nearest will win a ‘Grunge’ Jelly Roll by Moda worth £31.50.

Good Luck and thanks to Elaine for her work.

Safari life by Stacy Iest Hsu for Moda, this is Stacy's first collection and she says the following about the collection:

love the warmth it gives and I am especially proud of the illustrations. I feel like this collection is for all ages, boys and girls, adventurers and dreamers.
